Does Your Home Have Curb Appeal?
Dear Portland, Oregon Home Sellers, Does Your Home Have Curb Appeal?
Why do some homes sell quickly for top dollar while others sit on the market for a long time? A lot of it comes down to curb appeal.
A home that evokes an emotional response in prospective buyers when they first drive up to a property have what’s called curb appeal. Whether you own a town home or a detached home complete with a lawn, trees, flowers, you can apply these tips to help you add curb appeal and create a positive emotional response to your home.
Imagine that a prospective buyer gets out of their car and is immediately taken aback with how terrific your home looks. That’s the response you’re looking for. Here’s how you do it.
1. Wash and dry your front windows until they sparkle.
2. Clean your front porch or entryway of all debris.
3. Paint your front door, railings, and other areas that need touch up.
4. Open your curtains and shutters and turn on the lights.
5. Revitalize your flower beds with fresh, blooming flowers and plants.
6. Keep your garage doors closed, storing bicycles and toys out of sight.
7. Confine your pets to keep them safe and out of the way of people who may be allergic or afraid of animals.
