Portland Real Estate Market
Historically, real estate in Portland Oregon, has been a sound investment. And to be very clear, it’s still a very strong housing market. As a general rule, residential property in Portland holds its value — the city is a very attractive place to live and the schools are good. The lifestyle is comfortable and Portland usually ranks quite high for liveability. The city has terrific housing stock with an unusually large number of wonderful Portland neighborhoods. All of which means Portland real estate is a solid investment, but not immune to economic conditions.
Real estate everywhere is affected by national economic trends and Portland is no exception. Because Portland has so much going for it, we tend not to succumb quite as much as some other places in the U.S. Nevertheless, in summer of 2009, we, like many other cities around the country, have lost some value and have our share of foreclosures.
